There is naught to say whether this is correct, but mayhap we are best off not testing fate.

We ought to, in order to ensure we can determine whether two were afflicted, one acted willingly, or-- a single afflicted simply saw fit to take things further.

Examining their bodies ought to be a priority, then. Their conditions will help us determine which locations and which pieces of evidence are related to them.
