[he's still in something of a mood, when he returns to the crystalline apartment. what a way for it all to turn out-- particularly for someone unused to murder whatsoever.
emet-selch is settled on the couch, for now, glancing up to november whenever he happens to wander through.]
Well. I doubt I need ask if you are well, after that; you hardly seemed troubled.
[Indeed. November looks as unflappable as usual. No love lost for either Kazuma or Ryunosuke. The loss of two intelligent people are the issue here, as far as he's concerned, but he's not saying that ever]
Indeed. While it's my first time seeing this sort of procedure, the loss of lives and the impending execution aren't troubling me.
[He smiles]
I'm aware I'm the outlier on that regard.
[He's well aware his mindset is not normal. Contractors just are forced by nature to have such amoral, efficient thinking]
It seems passing strange that you are. Nearly every human here ought to be accustomed to death in this way, it seems, and yet so few of you appear to take it as such despite insisting it is normal.
[if it's like that, then... it's just a little odd.]
That's normal for humans. Death is a fact of life, and it's often brought by your fellow man, but that doesn't mean one should consider it normal. In a perfect world nobody would kill each other, after all.
Consider yourself lucky, Emet-Selch. That must be a rarity of a world.
[Very lucky, really]
Yes, I do. Both witnessing it and causing it myself. It's not something to be proud of, really.
[He says that to hide his absolute indifference. While killing isn't his go-to strategy unless he was sent specifically to kill a target, he feels no remorse when he resorts to that]
She would take it as an act of war, but perhaps I will do so once she spends time and resources fighting against Party City. Striking when her kingdom is most vulnerable seems about right.
[Hah, at least November is willing to play along with other people's shenanigans]
This war business sounds like entirely too much trouble. I shall leave the both of you to it... though at the very least, I should hope Party City finds itself defeated, false as it is.
[Two of your Crystalline partners engaging in imaginary war and there's a chance Percy wouldn't turn his head away either. You're stuck with an interesting group, Emet, haha.
Still, there's something November does bring up]
These are some senseless places. Last time I thought it was clear the Prism was trying to keep us all content and distracted, but this time it feels too random. I'm not sure what the intent is this time.
[A graeyard, party city, an office...at leas the dojo is nice]
If you want to sabotage any future parties I suppose I don't mind helping, if you come up with something.
[He's not really into raining into people's parades, but those games could have led to him saying stuff he didn't want to let others know. He has confessed stuff to some one-on-one, but there in public where everyone can hear it? No, thanks.
[BOY. that was a time! he's busy dragging vax and percy off to make sure they get healed along with the girls, but later in the day he'll be back in the apartment, seated on the sofa and leaning back against it, eyes closed.
he's not asleep, his breathing isn't slow enough. just-- taking a minute, apparently.]
November enters. Something about him seems a tad antsy, which is remarkable for someone who always is so composed in the face of stuff. What can he say, today has been such a mess. He just sits to the computer seat, tired]
...at this point I can't tell if it's fortunate or not that our roommate is still among us.
[Hard not to have be concerned about Percy after what happened to Malik, you know]
I do not believe we have reason to be concerned, yet. If his behavior is altered in the coming week, then perhaps there will be cause for it, but-- whatever occurred there, whatever saved him...
I was told a message someone received said that there are more ways to use color than we know. Today appeared, to me, to be a display of precisely that, and we know at least one method of curing refraction exists with a type of gumball. 'Tis hardly an impossibility.
This week using colors was more difficult than usual. If next week we're still having trouble with it then even if there are more ways to use color we're at a disadvantage if we can't even do what we already know.
[You know, the way sometimes trying to use color led to no results, but you felt drained anyway]
I will admit in my job latent threats of such caliber are usually dealt with by killing them. [Recently there had been an extremely dangerous Contractor who he felt scared of enough to kill on sight the moment he suspected she may have been getting her powers back. This all here is reaching that level of danger, in his opinion. Problem is...] I can't tell if this is my own thoughts or this place influencing me to consider it. How frustrating.
[But he's not acting upon them. Perhaps that's a sign that yeah, it's his own thoughts, or at least he hopes so]
No, 'tis likely your own thoughts. I believed the same, at first. If one who killed had escaped, they most certainly would be a threat to the rest of us, yes? And that which cannot exist within the whole... by our standards, ought to be removed. A predator which takes too much prey, a plant which proves to over-propagate-- these things would be undone.
[he folds his arms in his lap, there.]
I asked the residents of the matter, as well. Of what ought to be done if we identified someone who was not caught, not voted for. All that I spoke to cautioned against such action-- I was told by one that killing disrupts the balance further. That there must be other ways.
[things like the gumball, for one, and apparently... whatever happened this time.]
In theory nothing should stop us from returning any gumball we get, gaining tokens back, and using them again until we have a number of those gumballs that can help at a time like this.
[But that'd be breaking the game and therefore we shouldn't, that's for sure]
In theory-- but that would be quite the effort. Particularly as it would require accepting that one could not use theirs, if they meant to save the tokens and continue to try.
[...but Emet is right, he has to admit. Expecting everyone to play along with it and not use gumballs is not going to work because hey, people around here have been very eager to use them!]
But you're correct. Some are very eager to use gumballs for no reason, if the number of curses and effects going around is any indication.
[And although he's all for goofing around somewhat, sometimes what people do really...makes him wonder why, why do they do this, goodness]
The ones that influence you to commit vandalism are especially confusing. Why would anyone want someone else to do such a thing?
[November really has a great capacity to lie, covering up what happened with the dojo. That's totally untrue -- what actually happened was that November had tried to get pieces of wooden swords out, didn't work, and he just tossed them aside and left without even a little bit of guilt or consideration for anyone who would find that]
Then they should find better ways to deal with their boredom than to cause chaos just because.
[Part of the reason why he holds this opinion is because he used to fight against terroristic threats. This is incredibly far from what he used to deal with, but the core of his stance -- that causing trouble for the sake of causing trouble is unnecessary and should be dealt with -- doesn't change]

Week 2 -- Monday
I didn't think she would have the gall to take an entire place for herself like this.
[Not that it bothers him -- this office is useless -- but still! This is quite the thing to do!]

You could always claim a part of it in counter, if it troubles you?

The cemetery does align with what occurred over the weekend, as well. Mayhap it exists because many would expect it to.
